Why Frigidaire parts rarely blow up the repair bill

That is why Gallery failures skew toward controls, sensors and dispensers, while base-model failures skew mechanical. It changes what we test first, not how well the machine cools.
On the electronic lines, yes — a button sequence puts the control into service mode and displays stored codes. The sequence varies by platform and lives on the tech sheet tucked inside the machine, not in the owner's manual. Base mechanical models store nothing at all. Telling us a code helps, but treat it as the name of a circuit rather than the name of a failed part; we have seen plenty of sensor and harness faults reported as board codes.
