Thermador Dishwasher Repair in the South Bay

E15 and E22 faults, standing water, and wet dishes — diagnosed from the stored codes and the base pan, the way this Bosch-built platform is meant to be serviced.

Thermador dishwashers are built on Bosch's platform, and they inherit its behavior along with its engineering: the same drain pump design, condensation and heat-pump drying instead of a visible heating element, and the same family of E-codes. That's why an E15 acts the way it does — a float switch in the base pan detects leaked water and locks the machine into drain-only mode until the pan is dry, and why the real question is never how to clear the code but where the water came from.

We start by reading the stored fault codes, checking the base pan, and testing the drain pump and heating circuit directly. On this platform the codes are genuinely useful when you test the circuit they point to, and that keeps the repair to one visit and one correct part.

Thermador dishwasher showing E15 and stopping mid-cycle

E15 means water has reached the base pan under the tub and tripped the anti-flood switch — the drain pump runs continuously and the cycle won't start until that pan is dry. Tipping the machine to drain the pan clears the code, but it doesn't fix the leak that filled it, so the code comes back within days or weeks. Finding the actual leak point is the repair.

Leaking pump seal or hose connection
Cracked or degraded tub-to-sump seal
Overfilling from a faulty inlet valve
Spray arm leak spraying past a door seal

Thermador dishwasher not draining or showing E22

E22 flags residual water — most often a filter or drain impeller blocked by food debris or glass fragments, and occasionally a check valve or a kinked drain line downstream. The drain pump itself is a compact, replaceable unit on this platform, and testing it directly separates a blocked pump from a dead one.

Debris in the filter assembly or impeller area
Failed drain pump
Stuck check valve letting water flow back
Blocked drain hose or disposal connection

Thermador dishwasher not drying dishes

There's no exposed heating element in these machines — drying relies on condensation, with rinse aid doing real work, and on newer models a heat pump assisting. If dishes come out soaked even with rinse aid filled and glassware drying better than plastics is ruled out, the heating circuit or its sensor has usually failed, which the machine often logs as a code even when it never shows one on the display.

Empty or misadjusted rinse aid dispenser
Failed heater or heat pump circuit
Temperature sensor fault keeping water cold
Wash cycle never reaching sanitize temperature
